Vertu’s latest collaboration with Boucheron looks enjoy it was run over before you got it but that’s deliberate. The artistically rumpled Boucheron 150 cellphone is crafted from a single piece of solid gold. It’s part of Boucheron’s 150th anniversary which also included a line of bejeweled Vertu phones. The new gold phone will have 3G connectivity and come in a wooden presentation box. The phone reportedly takes 1,000 hours of shaping, 700 polishing hours, and 500 hours of building time to create. It’s expected to cost around $30,000.

I recently checked out this Bluetooth earpiece at the Apple store, it’s a nice accompaniment to the iPhone. The Metal from Contour Design has an aluminum casing and weighs just 0.2 oz. It has five hours of talktime or seven days of standby. If it does get drained you can plug it into any USB port, even the included vehicle adapter, for a swift re-charge. It has Bluetooth features including managing calls to volume control. The Contour Metal comes complete with protective holster for both the USB charger and the headset itself and sells for $79.95.

Atomic Floyd released their latest high performance TwistJax headphones this month. Inspired by the style of high-end vehicles and watches they feature acoustic steel and high-tech innards that make for awesome sound, they look beautiful thanks to a mix of 24ct gold and titanium, and they feel great due to the Twist2Fit design that lets you spin the earbud around to the most comfortable position for your particular ears. Give the gift of music this year that not only sounds great, but looks great and feels great too.

Despite theories that it would be consumers who were in short supply this holiday season, it seems that Apple is having trouble keeping up with demand.
After a highly successful limited-release of its iPod Touch earlier this year, the company is now running short of other models, notably the formerly-ubiquitous iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle at mass-retailers like Target and Ideal Purchase.
Analysts estimate Apple will sell close to 21 million iPods in the December quarter, up 90% since the fall.

For the man in your life who appreciates the finest in automobiles perhaps a pretty package of fine accessories from a premiere auto manufacturer would be the perfect present under the tree. Porsche’s new Winter Gold Collection includes a stunning pair of shades, two timepieces and a pair of cufflinks. He has the ability to shield his eyes with the gold-toned P’8440, reminiscent of their ‘Exclusive Sunglasses’ from 1978. Then bejewel his dress shirt with the 18K rose gold cufflinks marked in onyx and crystals. Finally, two stunning watches, one is the Worldtimer P’6750 and the other is a choice from three of the timepieces from the Dashboard Series. I”m pretty sure he’ll feel the speed and bling of Porsche in these gifts.

Cell phones have almost become the new watches.
Personally, I’m not a fan of this trend. I love watches. Watches have history, a long tradition of craftsmanship and beauty. Cell phones tend to last two years at most and break a lot. Using your cell phone as your watch might save you the money and trouble of finding and elegant watch, but it’s sort of like using a backpack for a purse.
Prada has come out with an interesting pairing of watch and cell phone, above. Prada and LG have teamed up to bring you a watch that receives all your Prada/LG phone’s text messages, call data, and it also has a Reject Call function. You wouldn’t have to dig out your phone every time if beeps, you could just look at your watch and decide whether it was worth it. Very James Bond, or at least Penny from Inspector Gadget.

With a December birthday I tend to receive winter-inspired gifts and yes, I’ve been given an ice-scraper in the past. But one look at Saab’s Funk-Is Ice Scraper makes mine look pretty sad. Designed in Sweden, the scraper sports frosted plexiglass in an angular shape padded by a sheepskin edge for a comfortable grip and even includes a notch to accommodate cleaning of the all-important wiper blade. Leave the gas station, plastic-form ice scraper at the counter and keep this compact, luxe-looking scraper in your automobile this season. ($72.50)

Although premier brand strollers are nothing new the combination of Juicy’s posh style and Maclaren’s innovative design makes for a must-have in the baby department. The pink and brown stroller speaks to the fashion-inclined mother who wants her little princess to have luxury labels at an early age. With Maclaren’s high standard it isn’t surprising to find such features as a five-point harness, removable washable seat, compact umbrella fold, foot-operated parking breaks, high performance aluminum frame, and proper weather-proof coverings.
